Charcoal and pencil drawing is a recent addition to the many mediums Alan uses to express his art through the animal form. The mediums represent powerful, simplistic lines, shading and form that give the works their striking, bold appearance - void of background detail that would otherwise detract from the animal. Although the charcoal drawings are strong an bold, the special attention to detail of a particular animal is always paramount in the artist's mind.
